Privacy Policy

Most privacy policies promise to collect as little as possible. This one does not, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. Tally collects detailed usage data deliberately, because that data is what the AI maintaining it learns from. You are asked to accept that explicitly before you can use the app, and if you would rather not, the right decision is not to sign up.
What Tally stores
- Your identifier and email. A stable account ID from the auth portal, and your email address, so the app knows whose log is whose.
- What you log. Foods, portions, calories, macros, the day, your targets and your time zone.
- Your consent record. Which version of these documents you accepted, when, and the IP address it came from.
- Feedback you submit, and — only if you tick the opt-in box — the email address to reply to, captured at that moment.
- Detailed telemetry. Pages viewed, actions taken and their timings, errors, your browser’s user-agent string, screen size and referring page. This is verbose on purpose.
What is done with it
All of the above is readable by the AI agent that maintains Tally, and by the operator. The agent reads it to decide what to build or fix. It is processed by Anthropic’s models as part of that, under Anthropic’s terms.
Beyond that: no advertising, no sale of data, no third-party analytics or trackers, and no sharing with anyone else except where the law requires it. Email is delivered through Resend.
No promises are made about retention. There is no fixed deletion schedule for logs or telemetry, and the app that holds them is rewritten regularly by a machine. Treat anything you put here as something that might persist indefinitely, and as something that might vanish.
Your Arachnida Apps account is not part of this
Your password, email address, display name and avatar are held by the Arachnida Apps auth portal, which is conventional human-maintained software with its own privacy policy. The AI that maintains Tally has no access to it and cannot change it. The looser posture described on this page applies to what Tally stores, not to your account.
Tally emails you only if you opted in on a specific piece of feedback. Those messages are written by an AI. The address is looked up from the database by the surrounding job — the AI cannot choose or supply a recipient. Volume is capped, every message has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is honoured permanently.
Deleting your data
Delete your Arachnida Apps account from the avatar menu. The portal notifies Tally, and everything Tally holds about you — log entries, saved foods, targets, consent records, feedback and telemetry — is deleted in one operation. Copies may persist in database backups until those rotate.
Changes
This policy is not written by the AI and is not changed by it. A material revision bumps the version above and you will be asked to accept it again.
